Members of the militant outfit Hindu Yuva Vahini, founded by Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, have thrashed a consenting couple in Meerut before dragging them to the nearby police station for suspected love jihad.
According to reports, the right-wing Hindutva goons, arrived the house of the Muslim boy and thrashed the couple accusing him of carrying out a forceful conversion of the Hindu girl.
The couple was later dragged to the local police station, where police refused to register any complaint as there was no coercion in the relationship.
The cops reportedly allowed the girl to return home after ‘warning,’ the man, a resident of Muzaffarnagar, was booked on charges of obscenity.
Nagendra Singh Tomar, the head of Hindu Yuva Vahini in western Uttar Pradesh, told ANI, “I have asked the police to take strict action as the Muslim boy was romancing with a Hindu girl in the house. He wanted to convert her religion. I also insist to take strict action against the landlords, who give rooms on rent without proper verification.”
Adityanath, before becoming the chief minister, had always raked up the issue of love jihad with his militant outfit often subjecting Muslims to their violent attacks.
