Slamming Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for glorifying slain Hizbul commander Burhan Wani at the UN, India on Thursday had said his remarks showed Pakistan’s continued attachment to terrorism.
“Pak PM Sharif at #UNGA glorifies Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani in UN’s highest forum. Shows continued Pak attachment to terrorism,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Vikas Swarup had tweeted.
This also became the dominating topic of social media conversation with an overwhelming majority of users condemning the Pakistani PM.
Here are some of the reactions :
Nawaz Sharif showed himself today to be less Sharif, more badmaash. Inciting trouble, glorifying terror.

Now That #NawazSharif Himself Declared Terrorist #BurhanWani As Martyr, UN Should Declare #NawazSharif As Terrorist & #TerrorStatePak.#UNGA

That Awkward Moment when Nawaz Sharif sympathised with Terrorist Burhan Wani at UN, in a speech which was supposed to be anti-Terrorism.
