A small fight between children led to a full-blown clash among adults in Greater Noida on Wednesday, leaving at least five people injured.
Quoting police, a PTI report said that bullets were fired and stones thrown in Kalonda village, which falls under the Jarcha police station.
Cos said that of the five people, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem, Mohammad Arif, Waqil Khan and Umar Khan, Rizwan’s condition was critically injured and later died in a hospital on Thursday.
“Rizwan died today during treatment at a private hospital in adjoining Ghaziabad district. He had suffered head injuries and rushed to the hospital in a critical condition,” Station House Officer at Jarcha Police Station Krishan Kumar Rana said.
According to cops, the fight between children started during a cricket match over some ‘petty issues’ but soon the adults joined and the clash took an ugly shame.
Rana had earlier said, “Shots were fired and both the groups assaulted each other with bricks and sticks. In the incident, Rizwan was shot on the head and rushed to the district hospital in Dadri in critical condition. Later he was transferred to a private hospital in Ghaziabad.”
Rana said that police had booked five people for murder and other sections of rioting after a complaint was filed by Rizwan’s uncle and the police have booked five persons.
“We are probing the matter and now we will press charges under Indian Penal Code section 302 for murder also,” SHO Rana said.
The clash led to a tension in the Kalonda village after which security was beefed up there as a precautionary measure. “The situation is under control now and there is peace in the village,” Rana said.
