Police in Mumbai on Tuesday had to stop Salman Khan’s Race 3 shoot at Film City because of death threats from some armed men, who had reportedly entered the shooting venue.
“The police arrived at the Race 3 set in Film City and told Salman and producer Ramesh Taurani that the shoot had to be stopped immediately as the actor needed to head home as soon as possible. Salman was escorted in another car by six cops, while his own car was driven back to his residence by another group of cops,” a source from the set was quoted by Mumbai Mirror.
This came a day after the Tiger Zinnda Hai actor had flown to Jodhpur to appear in the case relating to Black Buck poaching of 1998. A notorious gangster, Lawrence Bishnoi, had allegedly threatened to kill the actor.
“Salman Khan will be killed here, in Jodhpur… Then he will come to know about our real identity,” Bishnoi was quoted as saying.
On Tuesday several policemen entered the Film City and informed Salman that few armed men had entered the shooting venue with an intention to kill him. The actor was later taken home in Bandra amidst huge security cover.
“This is not the first time a threat has been issued against Salman or a member of his family, and the actor is often spotted about town without security or even his bodyguard, Shera, but anticipating an unprecedented attack, he has been asked to be extra safe,” a senior cop was quoted saying in a report by Mumbai Mirror.
