Sagarika Ghatge has said that she wanted actor Ranbir Kapoor to play the character of her husband Zaheer Khan if ever a biopic was made on the former Indian fast bowler.
Sagarika was asked about her preference at a recent event for Milind Ukey’s upcoming bilingual (Marathi-Hindi) Monsoon Football, which marks her return to the big screen, reported Mid-Day.
Sagarika, who got married to Zaheer in April last year, had said recently that her love for her husband and cricketer Zaheer Khan stemmed from the friendship they share and that he is the centre of her world. “Zaheer is the centre of my world. The love we have for each other stems from a great friendship and a deep connection. And rare Platinum is the perfect expression of the love I feel for my one and only,” Sagarika said.
Zaheer played 92 Tests for India taking 311 wickets. He also represented India in 200 One Day Internationals, where he scalped 282 wickets. As for Sagarika, she shot to fame with her Bollywood blockbuster, Chak De, starring Shah Rukh Khan as the national coach of the Indian women’s hockey team.
Ranbir Kapoor has played the character of Sanjay Dutt in his biopic Sanju, which is set to release on 29 June next month.
