The RSS, the ideological mentor of the ruling BJP, has just concluded its annual meeting of its highest decision-making body Akhil Bhartiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS) in Rajasthan’s Naugaur.

Bhayyaji Joshi of the RSS said that the RSS had become more powerful in the last few years and it was not because of the BJP government at the Centre.

He said, “Modiji came to power in 2014, but the Sangh has been on the rise since 2010. Between 2012 and 2015, we added more than 10,000 shakhas. Our rise is not linked to us being in government. ”

He also announced that the RSS had now dumped its famous khaki shorts in favour of brown ‘full-pants.’

He said, “We’ve done away with khakhi shorts. Our new uniform will be brown trouser now. We’ve take this decision to respect the changing time. Trousers are more common in normal life. We are people who move with times. So we had no hesitation(change in dress code),” said Joshi.

Commenting on Sri Sri’s World Culture Festival, Joshi said that while the organisers had to respect environment laws, the bodies like NGT too should have realised that imposing fines were not always the solution.

He said that the JNU controversy was a matter of concern adding that the country would never compromise with the national security, Kashmir issue or policy towards neighbouring countries.
