Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday posted his long-awaited fitness challenge video that he had promised to Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli to post last month.
While posting the video on Twitter, Modi wrote, “Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature – Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises.
In his subsequent tweet, Modi went on to nominate Karnataka Chief Ministyer HD Kumaraswamy to accept the fitness challenge. He wrote, “I am delighted to nominate the following for the #FitnessChallenge: Karnataka’s CM Shri @hd_kumaraswamy. India’s pride and among the highest medal winners for India in the 2018 CWG, @manikabatra_TT. The entire fraternity of brave IPS officers, especially those above 40.”
Modi nominating Kumaraswamy immediately prompted many to link it to BJP’s ambition to form its government in Karnataka, where the saffron party was left embarrassed after Congress and JDS came together to form a post-poll alliance. One user Keerthi wrote, “Modiji is still desperate for power in Karnataka! How low will he stoop?” Another user Nishant wrote, “This was a thought out nomination!!!”
BJP has been desperately trying to form its government in Karnataka hoping that it acts like a gateway to its entry in south India. However, the unexpected alliance by Congress and JDS put piad to its ambition to secure the majority in the assembly. A red-faced BS Yeddyurappa had to resign as he failed to obtain the required numbers.
Since then, several BJP leaders including its national president Amit Shah and Modi have given enough hints that they had not forgotten Karnataka and efforts were still on to outsmart the Congress in this crucial state.
