The motormouth leader of militant Hindutva organisation, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Sadhvi Prachi, has said it was time to make India Muslim-mukt- free of Muslims.
Prachi, who’s made plenty of hate speeches targetting India’s minority community in the past, claimed the mission of a Congress-free India had already been “accomplished” and it was now time to rid the country of Muslims.
“Now that we have achieved the mission of making a Congress-free India, it is time to make India Muslim-free. We are working on that,” she was quoted by PTI.
The controversial Hindutva leader made this comment while speaking in a Uttarakhand’s Roorkee, which has been tense after at least 32 people were injured last week in a clash between two communities over forcible evacuation of a scrap dealer’s shop.
The clashes saw an MLA Kunwar Pranav Singh Champion’s house being attacked by members of a community alleging their sacred book was also desecrated by his supporters.
Champion was one of the nine Congress MLAs, who had revolted against the Chief Minister Harish Rawat after the Centre’s BJP government dismissed his government.
All nine MLAs have now formally joined the saffron party.
Reacting to Prachi’s anti-Muslim comments, the BJP President, Amit Shah said that his party had never agreed with Prachi in the past.
He told reporters, “BJP has never agreed with whatever Sadhvi Prachi has said.”
Prachi, in the past, courted controversy by asking people to boycott films of Bollywood Khans and demanding a CBI probe into all Muslim educational institutions including Aligarh Muslim University and madrasas in Deoband to check what she termed anti- national activities.
