He’s the new poster boy of the RSS in India and has lately been hailed aby right-wing groups in India for criticising Islam and Indian Muslims.
His arguments are always bereft of logic and smack of sheer opportunism with many accusing him of indulging in Muslim bashing primarily to secure Indian citizenship.
We are talking about Pakistan-born Tarek Fatah, who, despite being of Pakistani origin, claims to be a bigger Indian any Indian Muslim.
However, much to his embarrassment, an old video of Fatah has now come to haunt him.
Website epinions.in has carried an undated video of much younger Fatah, calling for the dissolution of India into multiple nations.
Originally posted by a Pakistani film-maker Fahad Kut on Twitter, in this clipped video, Fatah is being interviewed on his political analysis about the sub-continent.
Astonishingly, Fatah claims that the best thing for India would be dissolution of India into multiple nations.
Here is what he says;
“You see it (India) was never one country, even during the British. British India is not not once .. India has never been one entity even under Ashoka, even under Aurangzeb, it has never been a country. The future that I see, if I had my dreams come true, are about the sub-continent being something like Europe where the entities that exist are Bengal, places like Punjab shouldn’t be single entities, shouldn’t have borders but should have common currencies, but we are different countries, I don’t disagree. There is more in common between someone between say Lahore and Delhi than there is someone between Delhi and Madras.”
When pointedly asked if he actually believed that it was better for India to break up, he said that, according to his political analysis, it would be the best thing that would happen to India.
