The outrage against Monday’s police attack targeting peaceful protesters in Delhi refuses to die down.

As if the social media outrage was not enough, now the political heavyweights too have launched unprecedented attack against the city cops.

From Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to the CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury, all blamed the Delhi police for turning into what they said was a private army of the RSS.

Kejriwal, who’s currently undergoing naturopathy treatment for his cough in Bengaluru, tweeted, “Del pol being used by BJP/RSS as their pvt army to terrorize n teach lesson to anyone opposing BJP/RSS. I strongly condemn attck on students.”

Kejriwal’s tirade against Delhi police didn’t end here. He accused the Centre’s Narendra Modi government of being ‘at war’ with the students.

He said, “FTII, Rohith case, Hyd Univ, IITs and now brutal attack on Del students. Modi govt seems to be at war with students all across.”

Yechury for his part wondered if the Commissioner BS Bassi’s men were taking orders directly from the RSS.

His tweet read, “Barbaric assault on students by Delhi Police at RSS HQs. Police take orders directly from RSS! Is this Rule of Law?

Delhi police had mercilessly thrashed students including girls, who were protesting against the death of the Dalit student Rohith Vemula. They were stopped, thrashed brutally pulled down on the ground by the men in uniform amidst constant howling and yelling.
