A video of Star Plus show, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge, mimicking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress vice president, Rahul Gandhi, has gone viral on social media platforms.
The video is being fervently shared on WhatsApp. Ironically the video of the comedian Shyam Rangeela has become hugely popular only after he was booted out of the show hosted by Akshay Kumar.
In the video, Rangeela, who hails from Rajasthan’s Shriganganagar, is seen mimicking Modi and his 8 November demonetisation announcement.
He starts his act by saying that ‘Today I have brought very bad news for you.”
He then goes on to say, “You will be disappointed, you will feel hurt but you will have to bear that. Last night, at 8 PM. Oh don’t worry, nothing is going to change (in reference to note ban, which was announced at 8 PM on 8 November). Last night at 8 PM I was watching TV. At 9.30 PM in Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai serial, Naira and Kartik fought.”
He delivered these lines in inimitable PM Modi style. He was so good that the audience including Akshay Kumar and three mentors, Zakir Khan, Mallika Dua and Hussain Dalal were in splits.
Akshay Kumar later sounded the golden bell indicating that he was directly shortlisted among the top 12 contestants.
Rangeela was eliminated last weekend, while Zakir, Mallika and Hussain were unceremoniously sacked from the show last week.
