BK Bansal’s suicide note: Kejriwal says links with Amit shah should be investigated

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has launched a blistering attack against the BJP president Amit Shah demanding the latter’s links with the suicide note left by the former DG of corporate affairs, BK Bansal, be investigated.

He tweeted, “Read Bansal’s suicide note. Unable to sleep. Sanjiv Gautam (CBI) etc shud be immediately arrested. Their links wid Amit shah investigated. Whole country knows criminal background of Amit Shah. Can India be mute spectator to CBI being turned into an agency of his henchmen?”

Bansal, who was arrested in July by the CBI for alleged corruption, had committed suicide earlier this week along with his son.

In his suicide note, the deceased had made grave allegations against the federal investigating agency, the CBI, accusing it of torturing his wife and daughter, both of whom had committed suicide in July.

On page four of the suicide note, BK Bansal wrote in Hindi, ” ..DIG Sanjeev Gautam, two lady officers and fat hawaldar must be made to go through the lie detector test. The truth will come out. The DIG once said, ‘I’m Amit Shah’s man. Who can touch me? What I will do to your wife and daughter that hearing their treatment will send shivers down people’s spine…”

In the wake of the allegations against its officials, CBI today constituted an internal inquiry to look into them.

CBI Spokesperson RK Gaur said the agency has received a communication from Delhi Police to which the suicide notes have been attached.

He said an inquiry has been ordered into the allegations and the court will be informed.

In the note purportedly signed by Bansal, former Corporate Affairs Director General, it has been alleged that his wife and daughter had shared the details of “torture” with friends and neighbours before taking the extreme step in July.

Bansal alleged that the women officers slapped his wife even as the DIG abused her over phone and threatened to torture Bansal who was then in CBI custody.

He said, “Even if I was at fault in the case, why were my wife and daughter pushed to suicide by CBI officials.”
