Veteran BJP leader Arun Jaitley’s condition is said to be critical as several union ministers including Amit Shah and Harsh Vardhan visited Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences on late Friday night. Also visiting Jaitey was President Ram Nath Kovind.
Kivind was accompanied was Harsh Vardhan and several officials his health ministry. Meanwhile, the Union Health Minister has returned back to the AIIMS after Shah left the reputed government-owned hospital, where Jaitley was admitted on 9 August after he complained of breathing problems.
The former finance minister, according to Zee News, is believed to have been put on life support and multidisciplinary team of doctors is supervising his treatment. The AIIMS has not issued any bulletin since 9 August, when the medical bulletin had read, “Shri Arun Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS today morning. He is currently undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit under the supervision of a multidisciplinary team of doctors. At present, he is haemodynamically stable.”

66-year-old Jaitley did not contest this year’s Lok Sabha polls owing to poor health and also declined to accept any ministerial responsibilities. He held several key ministries including Finance and Defence portfolios during Modi’s first term as Prime Minister.

Jaitley had undergone a successful kidney transplant in March 2017.
The news of Jaitley’s deteriorating health comes just days after the veteran BJP leader and former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest. She was 67.
