Arnab Goswami ‘deletes’ video, Times Now editor puts it back on web

In a fresh twist to the raging controversy surrounding the video speech of Republic TV’s Arnab Goswami, now his former employer Times Now too has joined the ongoing campaign against him. Soon after Janta Ka Reporter reported the veteran journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai’s brutal attack against his former journalist colleague on Twitter, Arnab’s video had mysteriously disappeared from YouTube.

However, a day later, Arnab’s former colleague, Hector Kenneth, has uploaded the same video on web and posted it from his Twitter handle with a cheeky caption, “For those who missed it.”

His tweet was soon retweeted by Rahul Shivshankar, the current editor-in-chief of Times Now.

Hector was hired by Arnab when the former headed Times Now channel. Although he’s been the head of the channel’s newsgathering team, he reportedly influenced Arnab’s editorial decisions during his time as the channel’s editor-in-chief.

Meanwhile, Sardesai, now a consulting editor with India Today TV, has gone jugular against his former colleague asking him if he will resign and quit journalism now that his lies had been put out in the open.

India Today has announced its plan to do a prime time show on the reported lies of Arnab Goswami tonight at 10 PM. Rahul Kanwal, a managing editor with the India Today group, tweeted, “The Nation Wants to Know: Is Arnab Goswami a big liar? Will he apologise now that his blatant lie has been caught out?”

On Tuesday, Sardesai had called former journalist, Arnab Goswami’s claims of being in trouble while covering the Gujarat genocide of 2002 ‘fekugiri’ implying that there was no truth to the latter’s claims. Hours after Janta Ka Reporter first published this report, Arnab’s video had mysteriously disappeared from the YouTube.

While posting an old video of Goswami, where he’s seen narrating how he was in trouble while covering the Gujarat riots for the NDTV in 2002, Sardesai wrote, “Wow! My friend Arnab claims his car attacked next to CM Res in Guj riots! Truth:he wasn’t covering Ahmedabad riots!!”

He added, “Fekugiri has its limits, but seeing this, I feel sorry for my profession.”

  1. I dont know the truth of this video but heard Arnab saying “we had a identity card”.Arnab speaks fluent english but have yet to learn”Articles”someone please teach him it’s “an identity card”or ask him to go back to 4th standard to learn Articles.

  2. He may have lied once upon a time in Mumbai. 2013 is a long long time. That does not mean, whatever he reported later were all lies. The truth is his rival journalists who are but puppets reporters of “Sickular” parties, cannot digest his popularity. Sardesai should first ask , whether he and old NDTV staff would resign , for reporting half truths, about Mr Modi from 2002 on-wards, until 2009. The only impression we got , then was Gujarat is poorly developed, under MR Modi, people are not happy, and he was the mastermind in the Gujarat riots.

  3. A lie long time ago, does not mean that whatever Arnab is reporting, are lies. First Sardesai should ask , whether he and his NDTV team post 2002 should resign for spreading hafl-truths or balant lies about Modi. All we got an impression about Gujarath , was it was poor state, mismanaged by Modi, people are unhappy with him and he was the mastermind behind Gujarath riots.
