In a horrifying incident, a 19-year-old girl was gangraped for three hours right in the heart of the state capital in Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. The victim’s ordeal did not end there. When she contacted the police to report the matter, the cops made fun of the victim saying the girl had cooked up the story in ‘filmy style.’

According to the complaint, the girl was returning from her coaching centre when, at around 7 PM, she was grabbed by a man called Golu Bihari, who dragged her to a secluded area under a nearby railway bridge.

The victim, whose parents work in security forces, yelled and kicked in desperation but this had no effect on her perpetrator. Golu Bihari, who’s out on bail for murdering his own daughter, called his brother-in-law, Amar Ghuntu. Both men raped her for three hours. The rapists took breaks as one of them went out to get cigarettes and tea.

After three hours, at around 10 PM, the victim was finally allowed to go. Her clothes were torn so she asked one of her rapists for something to wear. Golu Bihari allegedly went to the nearly slum, where he lived, and got her a dress.

The victim called her parents, who arrived at the Habibganj station. The girl is a B.Sc student and is currently preparing for UPSC exam. Her mother is a police constable and while her father is Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel.

The family approached MP Nagar police station, which directed them to go to Habibganj police station. One of the policemen accused the victim of making up a “false filmy complaint.”

While returning from the police station, the victim spotted the two rapists. The family chased the two and managed to catch them before handing them over to police.

Hours after we reported the story and demanded strict action against the guilty police personnel, MP government said that SHO Habibganj Bhupendra and SHO Maharana Pratap Nagar Sanjay Singh had been suspended. Maharana Pratap Nagar CSP too was removed from his post.

  1. For India, it is rightly said that behind every big crime there is a policeman. Behavior of these policemen is worse than criminals sometimes. Corruption and harassment are the hallmark of police. Some of them are criminals in uniform. See, how many of them have been arrested in the case of Ram Rahim for sedition. Police reforms are long overdue.
