Actor Rishi Kapoor on Tuesday stirred a new controversy by posting several tweets appearing to criticise the decision to name important public places after Gandhi family.
His tweets came on the day, union minister and former army chief, Gen VK Singh, proposed changing the name of Delhi’s Akbar Road.
Kapoor took to micrblogging site to say, Change Gandhi family assets named by Congress.Bandra/Worli Sea Link to Lata Mangeshkar or JRD Tata link road. Baap ka maal samjh rakha tha ? If roads in Delhi can be changed why not Congress assets/property ke naam? Was in Chandigarh wahan bhi Rajeev Gandhi assets? Socho? Why?”
The celebrated actor had come in for sharp attack from the Congress supporters, while some felt that like everyone else, he too had his freedom of expression.
Then there were those ‘neutral bystanders’ who detected a tinge of irony in Kapoor’s criticism for dynasty.
In short, this was yet another day when social media users had plenty of entertainment, provided by someone who made his living out of entertainment industry.
