Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli and his actor wife Anushka Sharma have named their first child Vamika. This was announced by Anushka from her social media page.
Sharing a photo of herself with Kohli and the new-born baby, Anushka wrote, “We have lived together with love, presence and gratitude as a way of life but this little one , Vamika ❤️ has taken it to a whole new level!”
Anushka continued, “Tears, laughter, worry, bliss – emotions that have been experienced in a span of minutes sometimes! Sleep is elusive 😛 but our hearts are SO full ❤️ Thanking you all for your wishes, prayers and good energy.”
Reacting to his wife’s post, Kohli wrote, “My whole world in one frame ❤️.”

Kohli and Anushka were blessed with a baby girl on 11 January. Announcing the news, Kohli had written, “We are thrilled to share with you that we’ve been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers, and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives.”
The Indian skipper, who had left the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia midway to be with his wife, had requested privacy from the media.
