Mira Rajput and her Bollywood actor husband Shahid Kapoor hogged the news headlines last year when the couple bought a new duplex for themselves. The cost of the new apartment in Worli area was believed to have cost them a whopping Rs 56 crore. With Shahid’s latest film Kabir Singh breaking box office records, Mira is leaving no stone unturned to flaunt her husband’s new success. Her expensive taste is now giving tough competition to Shloka Mehta and her mother-in-law Nita Ambani since the two have also been in the news recently for their expensive choices of handbags and heels.

Mira was recently spotted hitting the gym dressed in black leggings and a yellow spaghetti-strapped top. But what caught the attention of Mumbai’s eagle-eyed paparazzi was her jaw-droppingly expensive pool slides. A fitness freak that Mira is, she chose to visit her gym wearing the luxe brand Balenciaga’s basic leather flat pool slides. The cost of her footwear, according to a report by Times of India, was a whopping $500 or Rs 34,340.

Mira isn’t the only celebrity to find herself under the media spotlight for the cost of her accessories. More recently, India’s richest lady Nita Ambani and her daughter-in-law have been in the spotlight for the price of their accessories.

Nita became a topic of intense social media conversations during the recently-concluded World Cup cricket when she was spotted carrying a 200-diamond-encrusted—Himalaya Birkin bag. The cost of her handbag was believed to be in excess of Rs 3 crore. It was estimated that the money spent on her bag was sufficient to supply drinking water for a year to more than 80,000 people.

Days later, a photo of Shloka, who married Nita Ambani’s son Akash Ambani in March this year, wearing equally expensive heels emerged. When she attended Yuvraj Singh’s farewell party with husband Akash, people could not stop noticing her Sophia Webster’s iconic butterfly heels, which was believed to have cost the Ambani bahu Rs 80,000.
