Popular comedian Kapil Sharma on Wednesday tied the knot with girlfriend Ginni Chatrath in Jalandhar in Punjab. The comedian-actor, who’s set to return to TV with a new version of The Kapil Sharma Show, took to Instagram to post the first photo of his wedding.
In the photo, Kapil was seen wearing green sherwani with a turban and holding a sword. Ginni, for her part, chose to wear red lehenga for the biggest occasion of her life. The couple looked like they were made for each other as fans inundated Kapil’s timeline with congratulations.
However, Kapil’s wedding largely went unnoticed because of media’s attention to Isha Ambani’s wedding. The entire Bollywood fraternity had attended Isha’s pre-wedding celebrations as her Dad Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man, welcomed guests from India and abroad in Rajasthan. Among those, who performed at Isha’s pre-wedding function were Beyonce, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar and Salman Khan. Slam, in particular, had agreed to be a background dancer when Mukesh Ambani’s son decided to perform at Koi Mil Gaya song.
In contrast, Kapil had to contend with TV actors such as Hina Khan, Guru Randhawa, Jassie Gill, who joined him for his wedding. Also joining them were Kapil’s comedian friends including Sumona Chakravarti, Krushna Abhishek, Rajiv Thakur, Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiyaa.
Perhaps keeping the absence of Bollywood stars in mind, Kapil has decided to host a separate reception in Mumbai for 24 December after he organises the first reception in Amritsar on 14 December.
The shoot for Kapil Sharma’s new show on Sony TV started with the guest list for his inaugural show includin Salman Khan, his actor brother Arbaaz Khan and Dad Salim Khan.
