The producer of Salman Khan-starrer Bharat has lashed out at Priyanka Chopra for abruptly walking out of his film, calling the latter’s action ‘unprofessional.’
Nikhil Namit, CEO of Reel Life Productions alleged that Priyanka had informed them about her decision just two days ago. “Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly,” Namit told an entertainment website.
This came after Salman Khan reportedly vowed to never work with Priyanka in view of her latest decision. Hours later, Salman’s father and noted screen-writer, Salim Khan, had denied reports of his son being miffed with Priyanka. He had told a website, “It’s okay whatever happened. Priyanka is not doing Bharat, let her be. Such things happen in our industry,” he was quoted as saying.
The news of Priyanka quitting Bharat was confirmed by its director, Ali Abbas Zafar, who tweeted on Friday informing everyone about the development even though he did not spell out the reason. His tweet had read, “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life.”
Meanwhile, it’s being reported that Priyanka has started working with Farhan Akhtar for their next film, The Sky is Pink giving credence to rumours that all wasn’t well between her and Salman. Many are asking why she had no problem in shooting with Farhan but she could not shoot for Bharat.
A video posted by Roy Kapur Films showed Priyanka and Farhan discussing roles. the caption of the video said, “Lights, Camera, Action! Here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come .”
