Bhabi Ji controversy acquires political colour after Shilpa Shinde reportedly approaches Raj Thackeray

The controversy surrounding the alleged sacking of Marathi actor, Shilpa Shinde, from &TV’s popular series Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, has taken a political twist.

Entertainment industry in Mumbai is abuzz with rumours that Shinde, who played the popular character of Angoori Bhabi, has approached the MNS leader for help.

Shinde is likely to hold a press conference with Raj Thackeray’s wife, Shalini, later this week.

A source told, “Shilpa had approached Raj Thackeray complaining of harassment by the makers of Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain. She said how she was dumped because of her poor health condition and also alleged harassment by the producer. Raj Thackeray has agreed to extend all his support and even asked his wife to accompany Shilpa for press conference.”

The venue and time of the proposed press conference will be decided soon, said one source close to Shinde.

Shinde had quit the hugely successful show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain allegedly to join the Kapil Sharma’s programme, scheduled to be launched on Sony TV soon.

The makers of the &TV show Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain, had approached the Cine and TV Artists’ Association, which summoned her to appear before the body.

But, Shinde didn’t turn up at the date angering the members of the CINTAA, which is now mulling legal action against her.

&TV had earlier this week replaced Shinde for Angoori Bhabi’s role with another Marathi actor Shubhangi Atre.
