A math teacher from Greater Noida recently left Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) host Amitabh Bachchan in utter disbelief after she sought to use her lifeline for a simple question on math. The contestant, Deepika Sharma, teaches math in a private school in Greater Noida.
In the quiz show broadcast on 30 August, Deepika was asked a question for Rs 3,000. The question was, “How many rupees do ten thousand paise make?” She had to choose from four options of 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000. A simple division of 10,000 by 100 would have given her the correct answer of 100. But the contestant from Noida decided to avail one of her lifelines in the form an audience poll.
As it emerged, she was not alone in not knowing the correct answer. 19% of the audience felt the correct answer was 10,000, two percent thought it was 10 and one percent audience answered in favour of 10,000.
No sooner had she answered correctly with the help of the audience poll, Bachchan expressed his disbelief as he reminded the contestant that she ought to have known the answer since she taught math in a school.
The topic soon dominated social media discussions.

Sharma said on the show that she was a popular TikTok star, who made funny videos on the social media platform. Her principal said that she was always carefree knowing that Sharma was taking care of her students.
Why not people think that she did this with the intention of exposing how KBC fooling people with such idiotic questions posed in a competition for the supposedly intelligent. Even if the answer is for TRPs it also subscribes to the idea of fooling general public.
Sometimes it can happen when the simplest question becomes difficult and vice versa.Everything looks funny as long as it happens to others.
