Aamir Khan expresses fear on intolerance, twitter wonders ‘which Modi cabinet member will first ask him to move to Pakistan’

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan on Monday disclosed how his wife Kiran Rao had suggested him to leave India in fear of growing intolerance in the country.

As expected, his revelation and criticism for the religious intolerance has caused considerable backlash on social media platforms. Twitter, for example, is sharply divided between those who support and oppose the right wing ideology.

BJP supporters have started trolling the actor, while those against the right wing ideology have come in his defence.

The usual suspects in Bollywood, known for affiliation with the RSS, have come out openly to criticise the actor.

Anupam Kher, whose wife is the BJP MP and who himself has always enthusiastically flown the flag for the party, was quick to take to twitter to criticise Khan attempting to remind him that ‘you have lived through more worse times.’

A small time actor of yesteryear and now a BJP MP, Manoj Tiwari, felt that Aamir had insulted India by his remarks.

BJP spokesperson, Nalin Kohli, said Aamir Khan had every right to have personal view.

Twitter is also playing guessing game as to which member of Modi cabinet will be the first to ask Aamir to move to Pakistan.

Here’s a snapshot of twitter conversation on this subject;
