Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has revealed how he often faced abuses from his critics on social media. Bachchan made the revelation with a tinge of pain during an episode of his Sony TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati, also known as the KBC.
Bachchan was in conversation with a lawyer from Mumbai, who left the legendary actor impressed with her sharp answers to some of the most difficult questions. The contestant told the KBC host how she was an avid follower of him and always read his posts shared at 3 AM in the morning.
Bachchan explained his reasons of staying awake so late in the night as he said, “When I leave my work, it takes two hours to reach home…At times, I find my family members fast asleep when i reach home.”
Bachchan said that his habit of writing blogs after finishing his remaining office work at home meant that he always stayed awake till late. The contestant told him that it was good to see even a big celebrity like him staying up late. To which Bachchan revealed that he had to face abuses from some of his critics on social media.
He said, “On many occasions, people have told me ‘what are you doing? Go to bed.’ They admonish me.” Bachchan also revealed that he had to face abuses from his critics, who made fun of his age. “They also abuse me saying ‘oye old man, go to sleep’.”
The contestant from Mumbai, a practicing lawyer, told Bachchan that her boss was unaware that she was taking part in the competition. Bachchan made an appeal to her boss saying that no action should be taken against her for skipping work to take part in the quiz show.
The Bollywood legend also said that the female contestant was likely to receive plenty of marriage proposals after her appearance on the show.
Bachchan is currently hosting the new edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati on Sony TV. The show has become hugely popular. The ongoing series has already seen at least three contestants winning Rs 1 crore each.
