National Security Advisor Ajit Doval’s son Shaurya Doval will be protected by at least 15 commandos after the Centre’s Narendra Modi government decided to extended him Z category security cover. The reason behind the latest VIP treatment has been termed as ‘potential threats to him.’
A report by news agency PTI said that junior Doval had now been ‘brought under the mobile security cover’ of a Central paramilitary force after a security perception report prepared by Central agencies claimed that he faced “threats from people inimical to his father and others.’
The Union Home Ministry has now reportedly ordered the deployment of CISF commandos to protect 43-year-old junior Doval. Under the VIP treatment, Doval junior will also have the luxury of AK-47 wielding commandos guarding him every time he moves in any part of the country.
In another development, the government also ordered VIP covers to at least 10 BJP candidates contesting this year’s Lok Sabha polls. They include Aupam Hazra, contesting Lok Sabha polls from Jadavpur, Arjun Singh, who joined the party after deserting the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and is contesting from Barrackpore, Minister of State in the Union Cabinet and candidate from Durgapur, SS Ahluwalia, Cooch Behar candidate Nishit Pramanik, former IPS officer, Ghatal seat candidate Bharti Ghosh, Siddharth Shekhar Das, BJP candidate from North 24 Parganas Shantanu Thakur, Dulal Chandra Bar and Khagen Murmu who switched sides to the BJP from Congress and CPI(M) respectively.
These BJP leaders will have additional security paid for the tax payers until the elections are concluded.
