A key document related to the Rafale deal has conclusively proved that the alliance with Anil Ambani was mandatory for the defence deal to become the reality, claims a French website.

The report by mediapart.fr website said, “It was a true false inauguration. A symbolic “first stone” placed on precut turf, under a capital of circumstance, in Nagpur ( central India) , but which announced the beginning of the construction of the “future factory” Dassault-Reliance. According to an internal Dassault document obtained by Mediapart, a senior member of the aviation group had explained to the staff representatives that the joint venture was a “trade-off”, “imperative and mandatory” to win the Rafale market.”
The internal Dassault document obtained by the French news website mediapart.fr confirms what the former French President Francois Hollande had told the same website last month. Hollande had said that the decision to choose Anil Ambani’s Reliance as the Indian offset partner was taken at the behest of the Indian government.
The fresh revelation, which will cause plenty of discomfort for the Centre’s Narendra Modi government, came on the day the Supreme Court asked the government to inform the apex court how the decisions related to the Rafale deal were made.
The new revelation will provide more ammunition to the opposition parties in India in cornering the central government in the election year.
