India knocked out of Davis Cup World Playoff


India was knocked out by Czech Republic in the Davis Cup World Group Playoff competition on Sunday after Yuki Bhambri lost his singles match.

World No.40 tennis player Jiri Vesely’s straight sets win over Yuki Bhambri helped Czech Republic beat India 3-1 in the Davis Cup World Group Playoff at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) complex here on Sunday.

Vesely won 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 in two hours and 12 minutes.
