Fans react after Rohit Sharma named Virat Kohli’s successor in Test

Fans have reacted positively to the BBCI’s decision to name Rohit Sharma as the captain of Team India in the longer format of the game, making him the successor of Virat Kohli, who quit the role following 1-2 Test defeat in South Africa.

Announcing Sharma’s name as the new captain of Team India in Test, chairman of selectors Chetan Sharma said that ‘Rohit was the unanimous choice’ adding that the board will aim to groom three potential captaincy materials in KL Rahul, Jasprit Bumrah and Rishabh Pant.

Rohit Sharma’s first challenge as the Test captain will be next month when India face Sri Lanka in the home series that will include three Test matches will be a day and night event in Bengaluru.

Sharma was already announced to lead India in ODI and T20 formats of the game.
