Bharatiya Janata Party vice president in Uttar Pradesh, Dayashankar Singh, on Tuesday compared Bahujan Samaj Party supremo, Mayawati, to a ‘prostitute’. The newly appointed state vice-president made this remark while he was at Mau district for party work.
While addressing the media gathering, Singh said, “Mayawati sells party tickets to anyone who paid her the highest amount. She changes her decision in minutes. If one person gives her 1 crore for party ticket and another person approaches her for the ticket with Rs 2 crore, she will pass it to another one. Even a prostitute fulfills her commitment after she is paid.”
Faced with wide criticism, the saffron party was forced to sack its controversial leader relieving him with all responsibilities with immediate effect.
Given the sizeable number of Dalit votes in Uttar Pradesh, the BJP clearly didn’t want to take any chance ahead of 2017 crucial assembly elections.
Social media, particularly Twitter has been inundated with reactions to the BJP leader’s controversial comments. Mayawati was trending on top on Wednesday on the microblogging site.
Here are some of the notable comments.

Shocked at the utterly disgraceful & deplorable remark on Mayawati ji by senior BJP leader. This betrays BJP's anti-dalit anti-women mindset
