Popular stand-up comedian and actor Kapil Sharma on Friday attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his claims for delivering achche din promise.

Taking to Twitter, Sharma, said that he was being asked to pay Rs 5 lakh as bribe in order to set up his new office.

He wrote, “I am paying 15 cr income tax from last 5 year n still i have to pay 5 lacs bribe to BMC office for making my office @narendramodi. Yeh hain aapke achhe din? ”

Reacting to Sharma’s tweet, Maharashtra chief minister, Devendra Fadnavis, announced strictest action against those who had asked for a bribe.

He tweeted, ” Kapilbhai pls provide all info. Have directed MC,BMC to take strictest action. We will not spare the culprit. @KapilSharmaK9 @narendramodi.”

Manohar Pawar, Vigilance officer, BMC, said that they had requested Kapil Sharma to disclose the name of the BMC officer who demanded the bribe.

Meanwhile, India Today reported that Mumbai Police was planning to summon Sharma in BMC bribe case.

Sharma’s outbursts caused quite a ripple as nobody expected Sharma to launch a tirade at Modi given that, not so long ago, the prime minister had nominated him a brand ambassador for his pet scheme Swacch Bharat.

While Fadnavis reacted positively to this public criticism of Sharma, other BJP supporters weren’t kind to the comedian as they began attacking the popular TV host on microblogging site.

Then there were those in the media who questioned why Sharma had not intimated police before paying the bribe.

With Sharma dominating social media conversation, Kapil Sharma soon became a top Twitter trend.
