Was it right for trolls to give grief to Aamir Khan for endearing photo with daughter Ira?

Aamir Khan on Wednesday posted a series of photos of his family members from Coonoor, where he also celebrated the 60th birthday of director Mansoor Khan. Mansoor, also Aamir’s cousin, had directed him in his debut film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak 30 years ago.

Among other things, Aamir posted photos of the family get together and how they had cut a cake for Mansoor. One of the photos posted by Aamir was also with daughter Ira, who’s seen as if the father-daughter duo was in the midst of a Dangal (wrestling match). The cute photo of Aamir being defeated by daughter Ira went viral with thousands of people liking the image on the actor’s official Facebook page.

However, there was a section fanatics, who did not like the photo and found it objectionable. One user Asif Sheikh said, “Respect Mr. Amir for Ramdzan even she is ur daughter to wear respectful cloth. (sic)” Another user Ashiq Bhat wrote, “Kuch toh khauf khao Allah ka sir.. I respect you and your dedication towards your hardwork in acting. But this is unaccepted.”

Questions have been raised if it was right to target a father for an endearing photo with his daughter. Not everyone agreed with the fanatics, who lectured Aamir and his daughter. Samia Yamin wrote, “That’s cute pic of father daughter Mashā Allāh love the bonding in my early thirties I still bother my father like this.” Syed Asif Iqbal commented, ” Why is some people so concerned about someone else’s deen? Grow up people. iF you are really concerned then pray and comment with love/passion.”

Junaid and Ira were born from Aamir’s first wife Reena Dutta. Aamir married to Kiran Rao in 2005 and Azad was born in 2011.

Aamir recently celebrated 30 years of Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak by holding a special screening of the film in Mumbai.
