Vasundhara says no guarantee if budget announcements will be implemented

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has said that there was no guarantee if the announcements made by her the budget will be implemented before the the next assembly elections. She was speaking to reporters after having presented her last budget as the chief minister before this year’s assembly polls.

“Our next challenge is how fast we can get the budget announcements on ground,” she was quoted by Times of India. When asked if there was any guarantee that the announcements would be implemented before the election code of conduct kicks in, Raje replied, “There is no guarantee except our normal conduct. Please do not compare us with the Congress. In our Suraj Sankalp, there were over 600 promises; we fulfilled almost 500 of them.”

Sachin Pilot of Congress, according to ABP News, said that Raje’s comments smacked of BJP’s confession that its time in Rajasthan was up.

Raje’s statement has come just a day after an audio of her MLA, Gyan Dev Ahuja, gloating over his party’s defeat in the recent bypolls went viral. In the audio, Ahuja was heard saying that BJP’s losing Alwar, Ajmer and Mandalgarh to Congress was the government’s defeat.

Not so long ago, a senior BJP leader had written to BJP President Amit Shah asking for the change in the leadership in Rajasthan.
