Unnao woman, who had accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar of raping her, was hit by a speeding truck on Sunday leaving two occupants of the car dead while the woman herself has been rushed to a hospital in a critical condition. The victim was travelling in a car with her aunt and lawyer Mahendra Singh when a truck hit her vehicle. Some reports said that the rape victim’s mother was also in the car.

Both her aunt and lawyer reportedly died on the spot, while the woman was taken to a hospital in Lucknow in a critical condition, reported Hindustan Times. They were on their way to meet the victim’s uncle Mahesh Singh, who’s currently lodged in the Rae Bareli jail.
The woman had accused Sengar of raping her on multiple occasions last year. The MLA has been in jail since last year. The victim’s father had died in police custody. However, news agency quoted Mahendra Singh’s junior as saying, “Victim, her mother, her aunt, and her lawyer were injured in the accident. Victim’s mother and aunt succumbed to injuries; the victim and her lawyer are in critical condition.”

The UP government had decided to lodge FIR against the BJP MLA and refer the case to the CBI after the Special Investigation Team submitted its report. The SIT had also submitted a video of the girl’s father, before his death, saying he was assaulted by the BJP MLA’s brother Atul in the presence of police.
