A right wing Hindu outfit “Sriram Sene” has allegedly threatened to destroy houses of famous Kannada poet Chennaveera Kanavi and renowned writer Giraddi Govindaraj.
This latest threat comes only weeks after liberal thinker and scholar MM Kalburgi was killed for his views on idol worshipping.
There have also been threats to professor KS Bhagwan from Mysuru University, once again from the religious extremists.
A few Hindutva sections were reportedly angry after Bhagwan took on the priestly class and Brahmins in a chat show on a leading Kannada television channel. A letter, threatening Professor Bhagwan, was delivered at his home even after the police have provided him with 24/7 security cover.
