Actor Shahid Kapoor has reportedly started hunting for a new house after the alarming increase in prostitution in his neighbourhood.
A report by entertainment portal Spotboye said that Shahid and Mira Rajput, who own a posh sea-facing flat in Juhu, are embarrassed to see a considerable increase in the prostitution menace right in front of his building.
Shahid had bought this flat in June 2014, before he married Mira. A source close to the Padmaavat actor said that while he had been on the lookout for a new house since March last year, the prostitution activities in the area has experienced a considerable growth in the vicinity.
“There are a couple of specific prostitutes who are always standing on the beach, very close to Shahid’s garden area. It is terribly embarrassing and no solution seems to be in sight, roz ka kissa ban gaya hai,” Spotboye quoted a source quoted as saying.
The story of the 37-year-old actor actively looking for a house has gained considerable media publicity with Jansatta, Amar Ujala and Times Now all providing prominent coverage to the story.
The couple have a daughter Misha, who was born in 2016. Mira had courted controversy after saying that she did not want to leave her daughter at home since she wasn’t a ‘puppy.’
“I wouldn’t want to spend one hour with Misha and then rush off to work. Why did I have her? Misha is not a puppy. I want to be there for her,” Mira was quoted as saying. Her comments had evoked sharp reactions from feminists. But Shahid had come out in the open to defend his wife saying she spoke on a personal note but it’s sad that people bashed her opinion.
