In a dig at the rival BJP, the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar has advised BJP to learn from senior leaders such as LK Advani, Yashwant Sinha and the JDU’s Sharad Yadav`

He said, ” There’s a difference between the BJP of LK Advani and Atal Bihari Vajpayee and today’s party. But who cares about or listens to LK Advani anyway?”

NDTV quoted Kumar as saying that Advani, Sinha and Yadav had resigned as ministers when their name surfaced in Jain Hawala scandal during the NDA government at the centre.

Nitish Kumar was in alliance with the BJP for 17 years until they parted ways couple of years ago.

The BJP’s current leadership under Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are accused of sidelining their senior leaders who helped not just establish the party but also took it to new heights.

Murali Manohar Joshi was not allowed to contest from Varanasi in the last Lok Sabha elections and post their victory Joshi along with Advani and other veteran leaders were removed from the party’s top decision making body.

Not too long ago, Yashwant Sinha shocked everyone in the BJP by saying that his party had declared ‘anybody over 75 brain dead.”

He had said, ” “All those who are above the age of 75 were declared brain dead on May 26, 2014,” the octogenarian leader, who himself was sidelined and denied a party ticket at the last hustings.”

Analysts says that the Lalit Modi scandal and the BJP’s top leaders’ involvement followed by corruption revelations against its minister in Maharashtra government will have adverse impact on the party’s electoral chances in Bihar elections.
