Police in Kerala have arrested a mother for forcing her 16-year-old daughter into sex racket. Along with the mother, the cops have also taken four other individuals, identified as Jijjin (23), Alex (22), Robert (27) and Rajeesh (25).
The four individuals identified are believed to be complicit in forcing the victim, a Class XI student, into sex. The victim’s father, Vijish, too was arrested, four months ago, on similar charges after he was found to be supplying minor girls to rich clients who used to allegedly gang-rape their victims.
In the case of the 16-year-old girl, she was routinely being forced to have sex with her clients at her house as well as other locations. According to reports, the girl had been subjected to such torture for over six months.
On Wednesday, the cops in Kerala, had arrested a 59-year-old man on the charge of attempted sexual assault of a Class VII girl at her house at Palankallu in Kallar grama panchayath.
This comes just days after the Wayanad special mobile squad arrested two persons in connection with the sexual abuse of two tribal minor girls under the Mananthavady police station area. Those arrested were identified as P. Riju, 32, of Thondiyil house, Valayam, and Amal, 26, of Kootiyerichalil house at Mullambath, near Kuttiyadi, in Kozhikode district.
The accused, according to a report by The Hindu, had taken the girls, aged 17 and 14, in a car to Ooty where they allegedly raped the elder girl in a hotel room.
The accused K. Jose, a resident of the locality, was remanded in judicial custody for two weeks charging him under the provisions of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act -2012. The alleged incident took place on 3 June last when the girl, hailing from a Scheduled Tribe family, was alone in her house, the police said. The incident came to light after the girl informed her school teachers, who in turn, alerted Childline activists, a report by The Hindu had added.
