India lose first Test to South Africa by 72 runs, Virat Kohli trolled on Twitter


India lost the first Test match against South Africa by 72 runs after they were bowled out for 135 runs in their second innings.

Required 206 to win, India were all out for 135 runs with skipper Virat Kohli emerging as the top scorer with 28 runs.

South Africa had scored 286 runs in their first innings but their bowlers manged to restrict the visitors for 209 runs, thereby giving the hosts a lead of 77 runs. The South African innings collapsed when they came to bat the second time in the match as they were bundled out for just 130 runs.

However, their bowlers finished the match before the stumps on the fourth day of the match. For South Africa, Vernon Philander was the pick of the bowler as he took 6 wickets for 42 runs. Philander was also adjudged the Man Of The Match for his nine wickets in the match.

Kohli faced social media roasting on Twitter after he gave away his wicket cheaply. He had scored just 5 in the first inning.
