A video of right-wing cow protection vigilantes mercilessly thrashing alleged leather smugglers has gone viral on social media.
In the video four half-naked youth, are seen being thrashed by men belonging to the right-wing gau raksha group.
The incident took place on 11 July in Gujarat’s Somnath.
The bystanders are seen filming the episode but they refuse to intervene.
Such incidents have sharply risen in the last two years particularly in BJP-ruled states.
Last month, two Muslim youth were forced to eat cow dung in another BJP-ruled state Haryana by right-wing thugs on suspicion of being beef smugglers.
