Day after CBI raids on Lalu, ED conducts raids on Delhi residence of Misa Bharti

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday carried out searches at the Delhi residence of Rashtriya Janata Dal MP Misa Bharti, her husband and a firm linked to them in a money laundering case.

According to ANI, ED searches were underway at three locations in Delhi including Ghitorni and Sainik Farms.

Yesterday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered a case against her father and former railway minister Lalu Prasad, her monther Rabri Devi and her brother and Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav for alleged irregularities in a deal dating back to 2006.

Searches were conducted across 12 locations, including Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Puri and Gurgaon in connection with the case, said CBI.

Later, reacting to CBI raids, an angry Lalu had warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP President, Amit Shah that he will ‘uproot you and smash your arrogance to smithereens.’

Listen, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah…I may be hanged but before that I will uproot you and smash your arrogance to smithereens. You are trying to incite conflict in the grand alliance. We and people of Bihar understand this,” a combative Lalu had asserted at a hurriedly called press conference in Patna.
