Jain spiritual guru, Tarun Sagar, also known as the nude monk has revealed that he was also scheduled to address the MLAs inside Delhi assembly, but the plan was shelved at the last minute.
Speaking to ANI, Sagar said that the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and the Speaker Ram Niwas Goel had invited him.
He said, “Yes I had to address Delhi Assembly on March 15 but prog got cancelled at the last minute. The CM and Speaker had invited me.”
Kejriwal had come to Sagar’s defence soon after reports of him addressing the Haryana assembly became a subject of intense social media conversation.
Kejriwal’s friend and renowned music director, Vishal Dadlani, had announced disassociation with Aam Aam Party after Delhi government’s health minister, Satyendra Jain, apologised on his behalf for his comments critical of the Jain guru.
Dadlani too had later issued an apology adding that he was only trying to highlight the fact that religion and governance must not be mixed.
Talking about Dadlani’s comments, Sagar said, “I don’t think he knows anything about Jainism or our beliefs…Also question of apology doesn’t arise as I am not angry with him in the first place.”
