Delhi Court discharges Congress MP Shashi Tharoor in Sunanda Pushkar death case

The Delhi High Court has cleared Congress MP Shashi Tharoor of all charges in the famous Sunanda Pushkar death case.

The court had reserved its order in April this year.

Special Judge Geetanjali Goel, according to Livelaw, said, ‘The accused is discharged. You have to file a bond.”

Tharoor’s lawyer, Vikas Pahwa said that he would be filing the bond soon.

According to The Hindu, Tharoor, who was joining the court proceedings via video conference, said, “Most grateful, your honour. It’s been seven-and-half years of absolute torture. I really appreciate it.”

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in her hotel room in Delhi in January 2014.
