After RSS’ criticism on Sunday, now the BJP has indicated that it will raise in parliament tomorrow the remarks made by Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad comparing the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh with the ISIS.
Quoting the BJP sources, PTI news reported that some members will raise the issue and seek Azad’s apology.
The saffron party has said that any comparison of the RSS with a terror organisation like ISIS was “unacceptable.”
The BJP leaders are also incensed that Azad had chosen to make this statement at a function organised organisation.
While addressing an event organised by Jamiat Ulma-e-Hind in Delhi on Saturday, Azad had stirred a controversy by comparing the RSS with the ISIS.
He had said, “So, we oppose organisations like ISIS, the way we oppose RSS. If those among us in Islam too do wrong things, they are no way less than RSS.”
The RSS’s Bhaiyaji Joshi in Naugaur in Rajasthan slammed Azad describing the comparison as “intellectual bankruptcy” of Congress and its “unwillingness to deal with fundamentalist and cruel forces like ISIS.”
He also hinted that the RSS may contemplate legal action against Azad.
BJP too jumped to the defence of its ideological mentor, calling it a nationalist organisation and demanding an apology from Azad.
