Two Kerala businessmen were arrested moments before they were to create history by launching Mango equivalent of Apple phones.
Both promoters of mPhone, Anto Augustine, 32, and Josekutty Augustine, 24, were arrested by Kerala police for allegedly defrauding Kalamssery branch of Bank of Baroda. Kerala police arrested them from the launch venue in Kochi.
Hailing from Kalpetta in Wayanad district, both businessmen had allegedly submitted false documents to obtain bank loans.
The company was founded reportedly on an initial investment of Rs 3500 crore.
The company claimed that, among other features, mPhone had bluetooth headset, wireless charger, power bank and a selfie stick.
According to rediff.com, handset promised a 6050 mah battery that assured three days charge life for a fully charged handset.
Shock resistant Gorilla screen glass, 23 MP primary and 8 MP secondary camera were other major attractions.
Reportedly, the handset is expected to be providing an internal memory of 32 GB, which can be extended up to 128 GB. A 3 GB RAM module will speed up the handset.
