3 civilian killed, 10 injured in fresh ceasefire violations by Pakistan

In yet another incident of ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops at the LoC, at least 3 civilians was killed and 10 others injured in RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Locals said that Pakistani troops used small arms and mortar shells to target several areas along the LoC in the RS Pura and Arnia sectors in Jammu.

This latest ceasefire violation by Pakistan comes when Director Generals of Pakistan Rangers and Border Security Force are scheduled to meet in New Delhi on September 6 to discuss the situation at the LoC. Both sides would be initiating discussions between them on Monday primarily to firm up logistics and the agenda for the talks between them.

Pakistani shelling also injured four members of one family at Jora Farm. These victims, identified as Liaqat Ali, Sakina Bi, Salima Bibi and Makhan Singh, have been rushed to a nearby hospital.

Pakistani soldiers on Tuesday had killed an army officer in the Nowgam sector in the state.

The junior commissioned officer was hit by sniper fire when he came out of his bunker. He died from his injuries later, an Army spokesperson said.

Pakistani troops have committed ceasefire vilations at least 51 times in August while the total ceasefire violation in 2015 have stood at 245.
