Former India cricketer Zaheer Khan recently took a potshot at controversial TV anchor Sudhir Chaudhary and his Aaj Tak counterpart Shweta Singh by reminding their outrageous claims on new Rs. 2000 currency notes having an in-built nanochip. However, Khan’s tweet soon triggered led to a hilarious banter between him and his former teammate Wasim Jaffer.

Reacting to India winning the toss in all the three T20 International matches against New Zealand, Zaheer wrote, “Still can’t believe India won three out of three tosses in the recent series. Did the coins have a secret chip, just like the currency notes? Just kidding, can you recall more such rare moments? PS: Only Cricketers can reply.”

While Chaudhary and Shweta did not respond, Jaffer took a dig at Khan by reminding the latter how he had once achieved a better bowling average than the former India fast bowler. Jaffer wrote, “Yes winning 3 tosses in a row is rare but not as rare as Wasim Jaffer having better bowling figures than Zaheer Khan.”

Not to be outwitted by Jaffer, Khan replied, “Equally rare is Zaheer Khan outscoring @WasimJaffer14 in not one but both innings of a test match!”

Khan shared a scorecard that showed him scoring more runs than former India opening batsman in a match. Jaffer replied, “Wasim Jaffer doesn’t get to bowl every test but Zaheer Khan gets to bat (almost) every test.”

Soon after Narendra Modi controversially announced the demonetisation on 8 November 2016, likes of Sudhir Chaudhary and Shweta Singh had gone to town claiming that the new Rs. 2000 note had a hidden nanochip, which could help Income Tax authorities trace the black money even if the currency was hidden 100 meters beneath the earth.

Both Chaudhary and Singh were widely ridiculed for their extraordinary claims that were rejected by the Reserve Bank of India.
