Actor Aamir Khan has said that he will be ‘happy to work’ with the pornstar-turned-actor Sunny Leone.
This was after a TV journalist was criticised for allegedly displaying sexist attitude towards the actor during a recent interview by constantly reminding her about her past as a leading pornstar.
Aamir took to Facebook to express his solidarity for Leone.
He wrote, “I think Sunny conducted herself with a lot of grace and dignity in this interview…. I wish I could have said the same about the interviewer.
“And yes Sunny, I will be happy to work with you. I have absolutely no problems with your “past”, as the interviewer puts it. Stay blessed. Cheers. Aamir.”
During the interview the journalist had asked Leone if she thought Aamir Khan will like to work with her. To which, she had said ‘probably not’ adding that this would not stop her being a huge fan of the star she’s always been.
The interview broadcast on CNN-IBN had caused huge controversy on social media with feminists slamming the journalist Bhuoendra Chaubey as sexist.
Among the questions asked by Chaubey were if she regretted choosing porn as a career and whether he would be morally corrupted by interviewing her.
Leone earned plenty of plaudits for keeping her calm and handling difficult questions with grace.
Many bollywood actors came out in support of her. This included Rishi Kapoor, Vidya Balan and now Aamir Khan.
