Actor Priyanka Chopra has reportedly become another Bollywood actress to enter marital relationship after reports emerged that the Quantico star has got engaged with boyfriend Nick Jonas
The engagement took place last week after Nick reportedly proposed Priyanka in London. where they celebrated her 36th birthday together. The singer bought the engagement ring at a Tiffany store in New York City, reported People.com.
What has given credence to the reports her engagement is Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar’s tweet, which suggested that Priyanka was no longer a part of the film starring Salman Khan. Ali Zafar confirmed that Priyanka had walked out of film reportedly due to her engagement.
“Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special, she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life,” he wrote.

Both Priyanka and Nick had recently visited India together. Although, they never publicly admitted or denied their affair, they had left little doubts in anyone’s mind when they attended the Akash Ambani’s engagement reception party in Mumbai, where only star couples had attended the event.
Meanwhile, congratulations have been pouring on for the couple. One user wrote, “Just cause y’all knew about Nick and Priyanka for two months doesn’t mean they weren’t dating for more than two months. Anyways, congratulations to Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra on their engagement.” Another fan wrote, “congrats @priyankachopra marriage or not just for dodging that bullet.”
The couple, who met at the 2017 Met Gala in New York, is expected to get married later this year. Nick and Priyanka are yet to confirm the engagement, reported Hindustan Times.
According to People.com‘s report, an insider said that Nick was “very, very happy” and revealed, “His friends and family have never seen him like this, and they’re all really excited for him. He’s definitely very serious about her.”
The rumours surrounding the couple’s relationship started surfacing last year when they arrived at last year’s Met Gala together, both dressed in Ralph Lauren creations. The actress had explained on Jimmy Kimmel’s show, “We were both wearing Ralph Lauren and we decided to go together. It was fun.”
It was Priyanka’s Quantico co-star Graham Rogers who introduced them, Nick revealed. “We met up like in New York the first time and the same day I think we found out that we are both going to the Met Gala with Ralph Lauren. And as strange as it sounds but we couldn’t have planned it. We just had a great time. She’s a lovely person,” he had said in an interview last year.
More recently, the two have been spotted wearing matching rings. Priyanka even told People.com that she wants to have children. “I am a very ‘live in the today,’ maximum ‘live in the next two months’ kind of person. But [in] 10 years, I definitely want to have kids. That is, it’s going to happen in the next 10 years. Well, hopefully earlier than that. I’m very fond of children and I want to be able to do that,” she said.
