Republic TV founder Arnab Goswami may have slammed the BJP in a series of his TV debates recently, but this has not prevented a comedian from linking the former to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kunal Kamra, known for his anti-establishment image, recently posted a hilarious meme on Goswami and Modi by portraying them as the two main protagonists from 1995 blockbuster Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The meme shared by Kamra had Goswami as Kajol, while Modi was being projected as Shah Rukh Khan.
While sharing the hilarious meme, Kamra wrote, “Name this movie, only wrong answers will be accepted.”

No sooner did he share his post, social media users began to respond with their own memes on the two. While some mocked Goswami’s questionable journalism, used the ‘no strings attached’ jibe to describe his association with the prime minister.

Goswami founded Republic TV with the help of BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar in 2017. Since then, he’s often come under criticism for routinely championing the agenda of the ruling saffron party.
However, many were stunned to see Goswami slam the BJP in a series of debates recently. Last week, he lashed out at a pro-BJP guest on his show accusing him of ‘doing advertisements for Yogi Adityanath on my channel.’ “Why are you doing advertisements for Yogi Adityanath on my channel? Why are you advertising for Yogi Adityanath on Republic TV?.. I am not discussing Yogi Adityanath. Don’t try it Shantanu,” he told a close aide of Patanjali founder Ramdev.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge was a super hit love story with Shah Rukh’s character, Raj, falling in love with Simran, played by Kajol, during a holiday trip to Europe. The two had to overcome a series of hiccups before finally being allowed to live together.
