A truck bomb, which trageted the crowded market of Iraqi capital Baghdad on Thursday morning has killed more than 50 people.
Officials say the death toll could rise significantly. According to the eyewitnesses, the bomb, which exploded in Jameela market in Sadr City, caused huge devastation.
Reuters news agency spoke to an eyewitness, who said that the bomb exploded in a refrigerator truck at 06.00 am local time.
No group has yet said it was behind Thursday’s attack on one of the city’s largest markets. But according to reports, the blast is one of the largest to strike Baghdad since Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi took office in August 2014.
